BGI provided occupational safety and engineering services to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) Safety Team to ensure the Center was in compliance with required NASA, federal, state, and local standards. BGI developed safety programs that incorporated GSFC and NASA policies as well as appropriate recognized industry standards.
Under this contract, BGI supported the following facilities: GSFC, Greenbelt, MD; Independent Verification and Validation Facility, Fairmont, VA; Goddard Institute of Space Studies, New York City, NY; Merritt Island, FL; and the White Sands Complex, NM. BGI safety engineers worked with NASA and GSFC personnel every day to ensure a safe work environment under a diverse array of safety circumstances and situations. The team oversaw and reviewed a number of important safety sectors, managed compliance audits and inspections, and provided safety training to personnel.
