Pantex Plant High Explosives Pressing Facility Fire Stopping

BGI – GCON performed fire stopping inspection services at the newly constructed High Explosives Pressing Facility at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) required a qualified contractor to perform third-party verification inspection services for a randomly selected population of room penetrations. There were several room types selected for inspection including blast rooms, munitions storage areas, utility areas, and general office locations. Following destruction testing of the existing fire stopping equipment, BGI – GCON ensured that penetrations were properly sealed in order to verify compliance with fire building codes. This project was completed ahead of schedule and well within the client’s expectations for documentation, quality, timeliness, and budget.
